Every year, Chartered Institute of Marketing (Singapore) - a leading marketing and business development body, invites more than 20 international teams (including those from Australia, UK, India, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong) to take part in a prestigious competition that challenges great marketing ideas and creative thinking. Each year, a team of enthusiastic and determined bunch of tertiary students presents the best ideas in marketing and innovation at this exclusive IMC event, as they prepare and progress in a career in marketing or business administration.

The event provides one of the best networking opportunities between the academics and the practitioners and provides an opportunity for young professionals and students to demonstrate their talents and exchange knowledge on innovative ideas.

More than 12 local and international teams took part just last year. They were:

          3.   Temasek Polytechnic
          4.   Republic Polytechnic
          5.   Ngee Ann Polytechnic
          6.   Anand Institute of Higher Technology (India)

          11. Ratana Bundit University (Thailand)
          12. Assumption University of Thailand (Thailand)

But it only gets better this year! More than 11 different countries have expressed keen interest to participate and send in their proposals for the 2008 IMC.

Intro to The Student Chapter
By setting up a Student Chapter at your Uni or Poly you can provide your peers with an introduction to the world of marketing and an excellent opportunity to get “hands on” experience in areas such as marketing, advertising, public relations and more. The Student Chapter will provide networking opportunities with your local CIM branch through events and workshops and give you the chance to provide an exchange of knowledge with like-minded people. It’s also a great addition to your CV!  

Who Can Set Up a Chapter?
This student-led activity is open to all undergraduate/postgraduate students from any discipline with
an interest in marketing and who sees it as an important part of their future development and career pathway.
